Who we are
San Gabriel Fly Fishers (SGFF) provides a forum for the exchange of information between members concerning the techniques of the sport of fly fishing and for the enjoyment of friendship and good sportsmanship.
SGFF is proud to be an an active member of the Central Texas fishing and environmental community. We welcome all levels of fly fishers from the beginner to the experienced angler. Here’s a flavor of what we do:
We offer monthly meetings where expert speakers offer tips and techniques, share fishing location experience, or inform us on conservation issues.
We sponsor monthly outings to regional locations where we fish new areas, try new techniques, and enjoy fishing with other members. Coastal fishing for redfish, Broken Bow for trout, and the Devils River for a wilderness fishing experience are just a few! Plus fly casting and fishing clinics for those new to fly-fishing or wanting to sharpen their skills.
We work with multiple charities that offer fly fishing as part of their client therapies. Project Healing Waters (veterans), Mayfly Project (children in foster care), Casting for Recovery (cancer recovery), Reel Recovery (cancer recovery) plus Georgetown Parks and Recreation for clean-up and children fishing events
