The Llano River at the Hwy 87 Bridge

Links

Description

Marcus Rodriguez of The Guides of Texas , who was the speaker at our May, 2008, meeting recommends this access point as a good place to wade fish the Llano.

Upstream from the bridge there are two rock gardens that have nice little pools and shoots full of guadalupe bass, largemouth bass, catfish and bream.

The round trip from Georgetown is about 190 miles. There is a road (just some tire tracks over the grass) that leads from the South East corner of the bridge down to a grassy parking area directly under the bridge.

The photos were taken on May 12, 2008 with the river flow at about 130 cfs.
