President's letter from Brooks Bouldin, February 18, 2007

Tomorrow, Saturday, morning we will have a fly tying session at the new library building, 402 W. Eighth St. from 9 till 11. We will be in a small study room on the second floor. At the top of the stairs, turn right into the large room with shelves of books. Once in that room, turn right again and proceed to the far wall the study room will be to your left. If you get lost there will be someone at the desk near the entrance of the room. A larger room will be available to us after April 15th. There is a nice coffee shop on the first floor far right end of the building. Come tie for fun or watch and learn.

March 3rd, Texas Parks and Wildlife will sponsor "Flyfish Texas" at the Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas. More information is available at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/visit/specialevents/flyfishtx if you would like to attend.

Our program for the March 6th meeting, will be a video that will take you into the world of some of our top fly rod manufacturers and if time permits, we'll see another film on streamer fishing. As usual, we will commence at the Chamber of Commerce Building at 6:30 pm.

Tickets for the $1,000 Sage Rod & Reel outfit will be available at the meeting so bring a fist full of cash or your check book to get in on the action

All members are invited to get together for lunch on Wednesdays at 11:30 at Fish City Grill in Wolf Ranch. Don't be late if you want a seat

Our next outing will be to Colorado Bend State Park on February 24th in pursuit of white bass. Outings Chairman, Bruce Wilks will be sending you more information on this trip shortly. You can reach him on his cell: 512-671-0629.

I'll se you on the river, if not before.

Brooks
