Description

Travis County Milton Reimers Ranch Park provides access to the Pedernales River. You can find more information, including directions to the park and a map of the park, at Travis County's web site for this park.

The park is a popular place to fish for white bass during the spring spawning run. As with most white bass fishing places, it can be quite crowded on the weekends during the run. Depending on the level of Lake Travis and the flow of the Pedernales River, the best fishing may be upstream or downstream of the park, and you may need floatation to get to the place where the running water of the river meets the slack water of the lake. For example, in 2008, with Lake Travis at 680 feet and the Pedernales running at 132 cfs, the best fishing was about 1.5 river miles upstream from the park

The road into the park and down to the launch site is unpaved and has some steep places. The launch site is just a wide gravel bar on the side of the river. The road and launch site are adequate for kayaks and small trailered boats, but you should probably check it out before you take a large boat down there. When you check into the park and pay your usage fee (there is no fee if anyone in the car is 62 or older) the park ranger will give you directions to the launch site.
