North Fork of San Gabriel River at hiking trail crossing near River Road

Links

Description

Just off the end of River Road in Georgetown the hiking trail that parallels the North Fork of the San Gabriel River crosses the river on a low water foot bridge. Immediately upstream from this bridge there is a low dam (about five feet high) that creates a nice pool that is a little over 100 yards long.

On the downstream side of the bridge you can wade through about 200 yards of low water before coming to a nice pool that stretches almost 200 yards downstream. Not far from downstream end of this pool you reach the upper end of the small lake formed by the dam in Chandler Park, near where Country Club Road crosses the river.
