Description

You can go to the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site for Colorado Bend State Park for information like directions to the park, fees, map of the park, camp site reservations, etc.

The park is famous for being a good place to fish for white bass during the spring spawning run because the massive white bass population of Lake Buchanan moves up into the restricted waters of the Colorado River to spawn. During years with normal lake level and river flow the portion of the Colorado River that borders the park is the first place the bass moving up the river feel enough current to cause them to slow down and congregate for spawning. Since there are a lot of fish there can be a lot of fishermen too. The place is less crowded on week days; if you plan to camp in the park you should make your reservations early.
