A rough road leads down creek and provides a parking area

FM 971 crosses Berry Creek about 4 miles east of Georgetown on the way to Weir, and the bridge provides access to the creek. There is a rough road leading down toward the creek from the south west corner of the bridge; it privides a good sized area for parking. There is riffle flow interspersed with some pretty good sized pools full of emerald green water. The stream bottom is covered with medium to large gravel, and the walking was easy.

This is a beautiful afternoon fishing fix. The water is pretty as a postcard and has a few fish in it too.

You can check the creek's flow rate at the USGS gauge upsteam near Airport Road.
