May 9 Mike Howard and I fished Salado Creek below Salado. I caught 4 bass from 1 to 3.5 pounds on an Autumn Splendor fly and some small sunfish. One of the bass had a crawfish in his throat the same color as my fly, so I guess I successfully “matched the hatch”. Mike caught a couple of bass and some large sunfish. As usual, we saw several bass bigger than what we caught that were too smart for us.
